-food is like any other place. I mean you cannot complain about it. Fall Campus Days at U of T is your best opportunity to explore our three campuses. You’ll be able to tour buildings and facilities, talk to students and professors, learn about courses and programs and see our residence buildings. Counsellors will be on hand to talk to you about the process of applying to U of T and answer other admissions questions that you may have.

Co-op will provide me with the opportunity to work with big companies such as RIM or Apple and provide me with valuable work experience. If I don’t attend the University of Waterloo, I want to pursue my engineering degree at the University of Toronto because it is a very prestigious university and has the reputation as a world-leading research institution. I believe that the professors in this university are very experienced and will not only provide me with the necessary knowledge to succeed but also expose me to the latest innovations in electrical engineering.

University of Toronto - St. George Campus

internet is always available to students and whoever happens to be on the campus. if you cannot connect to internet there is always help and the IT is always happy to help. when you register for your courses you can do it from the comfort of your home and its very easy to do and very simple however, if you are confused and don't know what to do, you can always refer back to registration guide book or go on registration site, and if you are still not sure then you can email them and the response is quick too. There are also mental health services that is provided by the school.

All the students resources are very good and well located, as library, computer labs, printers, wifi connection and health services. However, the quality of the services could be better. For example, the health service is always busy and in case of some emergency is impossible to schedule a time with the doctor.

Campus is nearly 100% wifi friendly with small areas that lose connection due to the size of available LAN. Tech support services are very friendly but presence on campus is lacking very much like all other services on campus. Unless students were interested many remain very much a secret until word of mouth or something else happens.

In the future, I hope that I will get a chance to work with the professors on a research project to come up with a new wireless innovation. This would give me a chance to gain practical experience in pursuit of my goal to build new devices while at the same time completing my degree.

The atmosphere at the University of Toronto is noticeably studious. The majority of students take their studies very seriously and are committed to excelling. It is not always easy to meet new people because many students are often sitting alone studying, but once you meet someone it is easy to engage in intelligent conversation.

The people of Toronto are great, kind, and helpful. The winter season is very long. I'm not much of a fan of the cold weather but I suppose the summer weather makes up for it (hot, beautiful, sunny weather)University of Toronto campus is beautiful and spacious. I live downtown so the it is very convenient. Nightlife is booming. There's always something to do with friends on a night out.

Toronto (/tɵˈrɒntoʊ/, local /ˈtrɒnoʊ/) is the most populous city in Canada and the provincial capital of Ontario. It is located in Southern Ontario on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario. The history of Toronto began in the late 18th century when the British Crown purchased its land from the Mississaugas of the New Credit. The settlement established there became York, which lieutenant governor John Graves Simcoe designated as the capital of Upper Canada. The city was ransacked in the Battle of York during the War of 1812. In 1834, York became a city and renamed to Toronto. It was damaged in two huge fires in 1849 and 1904. Since 1954, the city occasionally expanded its borders through amalgamation with surrounding municipalities, most recently occurring in 1998.

Downtown Toronto life is extremely fun as it is in close proximity to various things, such as bars, clubs, gaming cafes (board games, ping pong, etc) and restaurants. There are many jobs in the downtown core and the subway allows for easy access to the various resources downtown. Campus safety is relatively safe but there are several reports of assault in parking garages or on the outlying parts of campus. Students are encouraged to calling campus police to walk them home or to the subway/bus stop if they are alone and worried about their safety. The weather is normally good, but in the summer can be scorching hot and the winter freezing cold.

My post-secondary destination is university and specifically I am interested in attending either the University of Waterloo or the University of Toronto. There are many reasons why I want to pursue a career in electrical engineering, and I believe that the University of Waterloo is the institute where I can be exposed to the latest technological developments in this field of study. The electrical engineering program features a very competitive classroom environment with many talented students. The university also has the reputation as a world-leading research institution and a co-op program that offers incredible opportunities.

The academics at the University of Toronto are top-notch and difficult for other Canadian universities to compete. The school's domestic and international academic reputation are renowned for good reason. The professors are leaders in their industry and outstanding in many respects such as approachability, quality of teaching and reputation. The marching scheme at the University of Toronto is tough and it can be difficult to obtain high marks, but marking is fair nonetheless and is meant to challenge students and help them excel in life. It is easy to acknowledge that the marking system encourages students to make the most of their education and take their studies seriously.

Not to bash the professors personally, but I felt that some of them were truly arrogant. They didn't care much for the students learning, something they are paid to do. While the University is quiet well known in Canada, when told to my American or British friends they don't recognize the name.

Working on-campus throughout the school year, or over the summer, can be a great way to explore different careers, build skills that you enjoy using, make some extra money and get experience that will impress employers! Like with any job search, to find a job on-campus, it’s important to know what kinds of skills you would like to develop as well as what kind of job you are looking for. The trick is finding one that is in line with your interests.

I find that there are no entry level positions in Accounting. Almost all jobs relating to, or are Accounting require Accounting experience. Which when one just graduates from University likely does not have. It seems to be an odd requirement and one that causes a recursion, you need experience to get the job, however, you need the job to gain the experience. It's completely counterintuitive, as hiring a fresh grad would be idle since all the information is still in their mind, the longer they go without practicing what they learned the more it becomes hidden away in their minds.

no comfort in securing the job you want. no help except for sales jobs resumes. seriously??? science grads. difficult to get summer positions in labs - unless connection with someone in that lab already quality of employers - absolute randomness - life science job fair .. all the companies are marketing, sales, etc. nothing to do with science/industry placements nothing.

Alumni Support

University of Toronto - St. George Campus

6.5 / 10

The extra-curriculars are quite easy to join and there is a website for all of the supported groups within the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering in addition to all of the supported groups in the University of Toronto. It is relatively easy to join these groups and normally just as easy to attend (just show up). Various clubs will help with skills and networking, such as various leadership or speaking clubs, and technology and innovation clubs such as Nspire. Forming a new club is also easy so long as you don't want to have funding from the faculty or the university which would require various forms to be filled out. But an unofficial club can be easily formed within the university and advertised.

The University has a lot of extra-curricular activities to do and all of them are pretty good. However, not everyone knows about the activities and if someone wants to be part of it, will take time to find some thing interesting. The activities are out there, but you need to look for. It would be better for the clubs or committees to advertise more their activities. In this way probably more people would be interesting to be part of it.

Campus offers many opportunities to join and even create clubs. With other 108 different clubs and societies that are still growing the diversity within them is vary limited to say the least. Encouragement and engagement is based off the clubs own interest to advance and receive funding. Qualities is based entirely on one owns actual level of interest.

Alumni support is very important for everyone. Alumna's need support after they leave university. the communication between individuals after they leave there post secondary education programs is very good. I feel that our alumni support in Toronto is very strong.in fact the strongest in Ontario. I personally have not contacted any Alumni.

The University is quite a good environment. It teaches students quite a bit, and more than academics are simply taught at the school. It is difficult, at times, to attain great grades but with determination, dedication and drive anything is possible.

Know what you want to do before you enter a degree. IF YOU ARE DOING A BACHELOR OF ARTS (or something else that will require you to do graduate school or professional school) DO NOT GO TO A \"HIGHLY REPUTED\" [A.K.A UofT] SCHOOL FOR THAT BACHELOR OF ARTS. It WILL be a waste of time, money, effort and most importantly life spirit. Do well in a not-so-well-reputed school, get high grades and then apply to a good school for a second degree.

I really enjoy everything about being at this school. I was in a program in first year that had small classes to counteract the big classes at UofT and so got personal teaching from really good and smart teachers.
